On the morning of June 6th 1944, thousands of men boarded ships, planes, and amphibious landing vehicles with the knowledge that many would be dead in a couple hours. World War 2 was raging, and Germany had a stranglehold on western Europe for a better part of a decade at this point. However, the Nazi facade was crumbling. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A restaurant owner posted a photo of a note that said Christmas music playing at the St. Augustine business was offensive.The note read: “Christmas music was offensive. Consider playing ‘holiday’ music or less religious themed.” It was left at Michael’s Tasting Room in St. Augustine, according to a Facebook post by chef Michael Lugo.
