TOWNVILLE, S.C. – Anderson County deputies have responded to a shooting at Townville Elementary School in Townville, South Carolina, around 1pm todayimg_0817

Two students were injured and airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital and a female teacher taken by ambulance to AnMed after a shooting at Townville Elementary School, according to Taylor Jones with Anderson County Emergency Management. Townville Elementary has over 280 students from grades pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. Deputies told Local news that they have a teenage suspect in custody.

This is painfully reminiscent of the sandy hook shooting 4 years ago. All shootings are horrible, but when children are involved, the horror increases tenfold. You have to consider that even the kids who weren’t injured are going to be psychologically affected, possibly even irreversibly. It’s only a matter of time before we have to hear about how evil all the guns are. Whether you agree with that or not, I think we can all agree that people need to stop shooting children.
